Ego

Ego doesn’t make it easy for us to think or see what it doesn’t want us to see. It blocks us from perceiving our true nature. It’s primarily responsible for survival, therefore it is highly sensitive to threats and ultra-susceptive to what it perceives as danger. It feeds off fear-based beliefs that threaten survival. In other words, as long as the ego is running the show, life can be difficult and very challenging to create for us what we really desire.

Attitude

Zig Ziglar once said, “Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude. Our attitude is directly related to whether or not we’ll live happy, peaceful, harmonious, responsible, successful, and abundant lives. In this session we focus on the impact of attitude on emotions and behavior, and the relevance these have on our approach, habits, and practices in life. We look at how to be in control of ourselves and our attitude.

Faith and Imagination

Frequently, we’re too close to what we do to know exactly what it is we want, where we’re heading, and how to get to where we’re going. This is an exercise that the most seasoned leaders continually need to come back to.

Courage

Making bold choices doesn’t come easy. It involves an ability (or instinct) to sense opportunities and then move into action with the right response and times. It’s art and science. It’s about being brave even when we’re not. During our time together we’ll discuss how to live more courageously in life and work.

Problem-solving

Sometimes, it’s not enough to try to just cope with our problems, they need to be solved. As leaders we’re not asked to only execute tasks, but more often than not, we’re called to solve problems. In our time together we discuss a six-step process to become better problem-solvers.

Grit and Resiliency

The secret to outstanding achievement is grit. The ability to stick with things is a huge driver for success. In our time together we’ll be discussing ways to help us overcome self-sabotage and learn about perseverance and passion.

Working in our Sweet Spot

Doing work that we’re meant to do, well, there’s nothing quite like it. When our joy, energy, opportunities, and natural strengths intersect…that’s our sweet spot. When we live in that sweet spot it provides us with the maximum return for our effort. In our time together we look at ways to discover our sweet spot and to spend time in it. It’s about discovering our strong sense of self and leveraging that into our leadership.

Imposter Syndrome

As we grow in our careers and as changes happen in our lives, there will always be times when we feel unqualified for the task. This mindset, however, can spiral out of control, take over, and leave us feeling unstable, insecure, and threatened in our career journey. We will discuss how to overcome and defeat imposter syndrome.

Competence and Self Mastery

This is our commitment to never-ending improvement. During our time together we acknowledge the naysayer within and we commit to this process of “becoming”, transcend our fears, and break-through our resistance.

Forgiveness

One of the key components we neglect to consider as an essential piece of leadership is forgiveness. We must remember that as leaders we have a responsibility to objectively do our best in making fair evaluations of people’s performance, contributions, and behaviors. Forgiveness is crucial because we are dealing with humans, including and foremost ourselves.
