When Fear Creeps In

I recently started working with another company CEO. I asked her, “What made you decide “yes” to me coaching you? This is what she said to me:

"I realized that I needed someone like you who challenged me and was not going to let me remain the same. If I want different results, I need someone that sees and hears my excuses and won't let me play small by them. I’ve lived like that for long enough."

I help my clients reach their goals, dreams, and aspirations because I point out what I see and hear, that they don't see and hear for themselves.

I don't allow them to stay comfortable and make the same choices that keep giving them the same results. And most importantly, I believe in them far more than they believe in themselves, so I raise the standard of what they can achieve.

If we’re honest with ourselves, we all want to reach our potential. We know we are capable of more. But we’re fearful of what that means.

We ask ourselves, “What kind of investment are we looking at?”

Could it be that what we’re really asking ourselves is, “I want to reach my greatest potential, I want to see my business expand like never before, I want to bring in more money than I ever have, I want the time to do whatever I want…BUT with very little investment or commitment.” Is that possible? Is that the way it really works? Perhaps this is something we may want to pay attention to.

As business leaders, we have to learn to bet on ourselves, trust ourselves to bring in the financial resources, make the necessary time available for our own growth, and have courage to make decisions of self-investment.

Fear, lack of self-trust, scarcity, and whatever limiting paradigm we have is what stops us, whether we acknowledge it or not.

What holds you back from investing in yourself?
